Spirit Painting

This beautiful effect is seldom seen and could be a reputation builder. On the stage sits a simple picture frame elevated on two legs. The magician shows several blank canvasses. Audience members are invited to initial each canvass for recognition when the trick is concluded. Two blank canvasses are selected and dropped down into the picture frame. Playing cards are then shown with famous artists' names and their works printed on each card. Everybody from Monet to Warhol are represented. A card is selected and held by an audience member. Then slowly and eerily, as the magician gestures, an image appears on the empty canvass. It is a work of art from the selected artist and the canvass bears the mark of the audience member that had, only moments ago, marked the empty canvass.
