A young lady steps into an ominous looking cabinet that has, hanging above her, a rack with 25 solid steel spikes. These spikes are controlled by handles that extend out of the left and right sides of the cabinet. She is enclosed in the cabinet as two spectators are chosen to come on stage and drop the spikes. Dramatically this is done. Has she vanished? Have the spikes harmed her? A small front door is opened and she is seen to be intact and unharmed. The spikes are again brought up, the main door opened and she steps out all in one piece.
